Versace FW24 Fashion Show Beauty celebrated the vibrancy of the 90’s while the ancient gods elided with Punk-Rock
“When you’re with Gods, nothing can go wrong.”
Versace, Shirley Manson (Garbage) and The Prodigy. All prodigies. One could simply leave this here when describing the 90’s glammy punk-rock era that was evident on Versace fw24 runway.
But there is much more depth and dimension in each of these world-renowned names. The luxury brand stayed loyal to what it’s most known for – iconicity. Timeless and simplified, yet very original and universal Versace beauty has always meant celebrating symmetry and balance. But most of all – the pure individuality and characteristics of a person.
Versace fashion show took us right back in the vibrant 90’s, but with a more contemporary twist of elastic softness and balanced symmetry. The golden days of Elnett-hairspray and Studio Line-gels will try to subjugate a new generation, forming a permanent engram on a refined palettes of the Gen-Zers, as they would’ve done to all the previous generations. One can still taste that hairspray in the back of the mouth, since never did we fumigate the rooms as we challenged the Ozone layer creating those liberty spikes and unbalanced twin-buns. Singing along to Garbage’s “I think I’m paranoid” made us feel complicated but surprisingly, that was the goal. The days!
Edgy spikey hair, various versions of arranged mohawks and super short, shaved and buzz cut looks. The latter being famously what makes the iconic, Eros-like, Versace-man. Like the Greek God of love and sex, Versace-man is always desirable, handsome and maybe a little mischievous even. The classic Versace male beauty has no comparison in fashion world, and we hope that it stays this way from season to season, since there’s no need to replace what is legendary.
Versace beauty presented us with originality and a feast for individuality. When it came to hair, they had it all! From bright blondes, deep brunettes and spicy reds to all possible natural textures from arrow straight to flexuous beachy waves. We had hair in all lengths, captivatingly gorgeous fringes, unique slash-cuts, elegant shines and charismatic mattes.
Versace glam has become as iconic as the brand’s head designer, Donatella Versace herself. Natalie-Portman-like, Black-Swan-type, extremely graphic black and shiny liners were dynamic and dominant. Bended modern classism with a message, that only Goddess-like Versace-woman can get across. Skin was left pure and naturally matt with only slightly radiant lip, that looked desirably plump and pillowy.
Eros and Aphrodite - the great Gods of love from the past, may have slide into oblivion but they are very much present, carrying the torch of passion on every single Versace fashion show from past into the infinite eternity and far beyond. When you’re with Gods, nothing can go wrong.
