PRADA

If we could use two words to describe Miuccia and Raf’s first physical show since they announced their partnership, it would be futuristic and pragmatic. Futuristic as they transported us into the future; by presenting their SS ‘22 collection simultaneously in both Milan and Shanghai. Prada raised another bar in fashion, but it wasn’t just the setup with the giant screens that made the collection contemporary, it was also the modern approach with the clothes, with the black leather jackets over short satin skirts with trains. The color blocking of full neutral-colored looks with bold belts in yellow, pink, and red. The no heel trendy sandals were also seen in various colors. Pragmatic was in the way of the accessories and the clothes that could easily transition from day to night. We loved the nude oversized cotton dress jacket with wide collars with strings that served as closure, especially the ones worn over the black mini satin skirts. The same silhouette was achieved in different colors and with a grey sweater instead of light material. And if you ever thought a pullover couldn’t show off your figure, think again! A vibrant yellow sweater was seen with a built-in wire that accentuated the breast, paired with a leather bracelet placed slightly under the shoulders to give the arms some shape. The transition from spring to summer was also clear through the mix of materials and textures.

This collection had a hue of poignant colors with the two-piece olive set, clear yellow shoes, brown belts, and orange shoes. As always, the Prada woman loves to embrace both her masculine and feminine side, and the manly blazer paired with the mini skirt showcased it beautifully! Besides being revolutionary, the brilliance of the collection was in showing how the same outfit can look completely different when put on two different models of different ethnicities, living in two distinct cities.
